This site will be a place for those of us that spent many months to many years working for the Mr.Steak chain or franchised Mr.Steak Restaurants. Many good friends were made while we worked hard serving those millions of lunches and dinners. This blog may be a way to find some of them and how they are doing now. Anyone remember the Free Steak Dinner for guests with a birthday? How about the big steer head on the building with his stupid tongue hanging out? Have any photos of your Mr.Steak years?

Outside of a typical Mr,Steak restaurant in the late 1960's
Can anyone help me find a list of the Mr. Steak restaurants that were in Delaware? I know that there were two: one on Kirkwood Highway and one on Lea Boulevard. I am trying to find the actual addresses. Also, I'd love to have a scan of the menu. My family doesn't remember that we used to eat there when I was young. I remember ordering the Continental EVERY time I went there. It was so good!!
Thank you for this blog. My family used to go to the Mr. Steak in San Diego on Spring Street in the early 70's. I remember being a very young child and loved to go there.
My mother remembers thee being a sandwich called The Himalayan. Can anyone confirm this, and can anyone remember exactly what this sandwich consisted of? Thanks!
I worked at Mr. Steak in 1972-1974 I worked in Fullerton , California at the Mr. Steak on Euclid Avenue. I was a Lunch Time Waitress. Mr & Mrs. Chick were the Head Managers. Allen was an Awesome Manager there too. Tom & Pete were Chefs there. One day I was serving a Continental to a customer & I forgot to mention to the Customer to cut into the side of it and not stab into it, well he stabbed into it and mushroom sauce squirted out clear over on another Customer. Very embarrassing moment for all, but looking back at it 42 years later most halarious!! Mr. & Mrs. Chick came to my Wedding Reception & I still have the Faberware Frying Pan they gave me 41 years ago. They would be happy to know my husband & I have been married 41 years 4 children 7 Grandchildren. I "WISH" I could take them all to Mr. Steak now. It did have great food. Loved the Contenital. If anyone out there knows where Mr. & Mrs. Chick are tell them "Mindy wishesbthem God Speed." They were good Christian People. Mr. Steak was Lucky to have such fine people working for them as Mr. & Mrs. Chick & Our co-workers. Fun times, Good Memories!! M.W.
They were a client of mine in Aurora, Illinois when I worked for WMRO, the local radio station.
Later, when working at another radio station in Escondido, CA., there was a Mr. Steak here for awhile. It, sadly, closed, along with all the others.
I always remember the friendly staff but great, great food!
I would be interested in possibly investing in a Mr. Steak if I could find some information about who holds the rights to sell inventory, company name, menus, operation manuals, etc. I think it could be revived. I don't have plans to make it a big chain . . . just a Mr. Steak locally.

I worked at that restaurant. There is now a car wash on that site. The Continental was awesome! I've made them at home on occasion but none have been exactly the same. I am currently looking for their Blue cheese salad dressing recipe! We used to make it from scratch every day. My name is Donna Bossert Ward.
Mr. Steak was our "go to" place after Church on Sundays. I worked for 3 years at the Mr. Steak in Ann Arbor, Michigan. From 1975-1978. I loved the Manhandler steak - Had to get it butterflied though......

Hamburger served open faced on dark rye with swiss cheese, sauteed mushrooms and onions and a dollop of sour cream on top.
